Bizarre: Passenger’s throat slit over 10 pesewas

A resident of Kumasi in the Ashanti region met his
untimely death when the door of a commercial vehicle
slit his throat whilst demanding for his change of 10
pesewas. The incident happened at Sepi-Buokrom in the Ashanti
Regional capital, Kumasi, Luv News’ Erastus Asare
Donkor reports. According to Eratus, eyewitnesses said the passenger
had an argument with the driver’s mate over a change.
He said when the man alighted from the car, he held the
door of the car through the passengers’ widow and
insisted on getting the change of 10p. But the driver, an eyewitness said, in a fit of anger
moved the vehicle at a top speed, but unfortunately the
edges of the door slit the passenger's throat forcing the
vocal cord to gush out in the process. He died instantly, Erastus reported. Meanwhile, the driver whose name was given as
Kwabena Owusu Ansah has handed himself to the
Asawase police who are investigating the case. In an unrelated development, Acting Inspector-General of
Police Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan has met with police
commanders in the Ashanti Region to find solution to
recent state of insecurity in the region. This follows seven gruesome killings in Kumasi over the
last two weeks. The IGP was in Kumasi to get firsthand
appraisal of the security situation and discuss measures
to deal with the situation. Meanwhile security experts have made a strong call on
the Ashanti Regional police command to double efforts in
ensuring the garden city is safe.               Source:myjonline.com
